Gabriella Añorve, Lead Teacher and 2nd Grade
Hello! I am Gabriella Añorve and have been at President Ave. Elementary for 3 years. I am the first teacher to launch the very successful Dual Language Program and take great pride and joy in being a trailblazer at our school! I have 22 years of teaching experience and use all of my learned skills and strategies to do my best every year. Being at President is wonderful as it is one of the most multicultural community’s I have ever worked in! I love imparting both Spanish and English instruction to foster multiculturalism above and beyond our beautiful school! My hope is to create a future population that embraces and understands differences rather than isolate or discriminate against them. ¡Que Viva La Diversidad!

¡Hola! Soy la Srta. Añorve y tengo 3 años en la escuela Presidente. Soy la primera maestra que inició el Programa de Doble Inmersión. ¡Tomo mucho orgullo en ser pionera del programa en nuestra escuela! Tengo 22 años de experiencia como maestra y utilizo todas mis estrategias para hacer lo mejor posible cada año. ¡Estar en Presidente es algo impresionante ya que es una de las más diversas comunidades que he conocido en mi carrera! ¡Me fascina impartir enseñanza en Español e inglés para promover multiculturalismo más allá de nuestra bellísima escuela! Mi esperanza es crear un futuro de seres que sean inclusivos de nuestras diferencias y no excluyentes. ¡Que Viva La Diversidad!
Diana Juarez, 1st Grade
My name is Diana Juarez. I have been teaching for 17 years with LAUSD and now I have the pleasure of teaching 2nd grade Dual Language at President Ave. Elementary. President Ave. is an amazing school. It has excellent teachers and a caring staff. My own children attend this school! As a parent, I was delighted by the small-school feel, the diverse population, and the beautiful green spaces at the school; like the grassy field and the reading garden. As a Dual Language teacher, I have had the responsibility of teaching English and Spanish to children of different ethnicities. I teach a 50/50 model in which half of the day is taught in English and half of the day in Spanish. My students are learning to read, write, comprehend, and speak in both languages! I truly believe that growing up bilingual and bi-literate will open a world of opportunities for the children in my class.

Mi nombre es Diana Juarez. He estado enseñando durante 17 años en el distrito de Los Angeles y ahora tengo el placer de enseñar Lenguaje Dual de 2º grado en la escuela primaria President Ave. Presidente Ave. es una escuela increíble. Cuenta con maestros excelentes y un personal atento. ¡Mis propios hijos asisten a esta escuela! Como madre, me sentí encantada con la sensación de la escuela pequeña, la población diversa y los hermosos espacios verdes de la escuela; como el campo y el jardín de lectura. Como profesora de idioma dual, he tenido la responsabilidad de enseñar inglés y español a niños de diferentes etnicidades. Enseño un modelo 50/50 en cual la mitad del día se enseña en inglés y la mitad del día en español. ¡Mis estudiantes están aprendiendo a leer, escribir, comprender y hablar en ambos idiomas!
Rudy Lopez, Kindergarten
My name is Rudy Lopez. I am currently in my 16th year of teaching the students of LAUSD. I was born and raised in Harbor City, and, since the age of 3, have had the pleasure of attending schools within this great city. The Dual Language program at President Ave Elementary sparked my interest while shopping around for a school for my daughter. Though I currently reside outside the school district boundaries, I opted to enroll her. I was so impressed by how much she had learned her first year and by how great the school community felt at President Ave, I joined the team! As the Kindergarten Dual Language teacher, I have the wonderful opportunity of teaching English and Spanish to a diverse group of learners. At President, Dual Language instruction is based on a 50/50 model; half the instructional day is taught in English, and the other half in Spanish. My students are learning to speak, read, and write in both languages, and are having a great time doing so! I feel extremely fortunate to grow professionally alongside such friendly, dedicated, and helpful people that help make President Avenue Elementary a wonderful school community.

Mi nombre es Rudy López. Actualmente estoy en mi decimosexto año de enseñanza a los estudiantes del distrito escolar de Los Ángeles. Nací y crecí en Harbor City y, desde los 3 años de edad, he tenido el placer de asistir a escuelas dentro de esta gran ciudad. El programa de doble lenguaje en la primaria President Avenue despertó mi interés mientras buscaba una escuela para mi hija. Aunque actualmente resido fuera de los límites del distrito escolar, opté por inscribirla. Me impresionó mucho lo que aprendió su primer año y lo bien que me hizo sentir la comunidad escolar en President Avenue que me uní al equipo. Como maestro de doble lenguaje de kínder en la escuela primaria President Avenue, tengo la maravillosa oportunidad de enseñar inglés y español a un grupo de estudiantes diverso. La instrucción de doble lenguaje se basa en un modelo 50/50; la mitad del día de instrucción se imparte en inglés y la otra mitad en español. ¡Mis estudiantes están aprendiendo a hablar, leer y escribir en ambos idiomas, y se la pasan muy bien haciéndolo! Me siento extremadamente afortunado de crecer profesionalmente junto a personas tan amigables, dedicadas y serviciales que ayudan a formar una comunidad escolar maravillosa en la escuela primaria President Avenue.
