    STAFF SPOTLIGHT: pRINCIPAL WEBER

Hello! I am Charity Weber, Principal of President Avenue Elementary School. I am tremendously proud to be part of this amazing school community for the fourth year.

    A little bit about me…

I am from St. George, Utah. My dad is a Vietnam Veteran, was awarded the Purple Heart after being wounded while serving, and is a retired police officer. My mom was born and raised on the island of Guam and moved to the states to earn her Associate’s Degree in Denver, Colorado. My sister and two nieces live in Sabre Springs outside San Diego. My oldest niece is a freshman at Mt. Carmel High School and the youngest is in 8th grade at Oak Valley Middle School.

Growing up in Utah, I was able to spend many weekends camping, hiking, and dirt bike riding. I enjoy being outdoors and Zion National Park remains my favorite destination and will always be home for me. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree at Southern Utah University and my first year of teaching was at Panorama Elementary in St. George. Although I enjoyed where I lived, I always wanted to live by the ocean and moved to Los Angeles. In 2000 I was hired by LAUSD as a teacher at Broad Avenue Elementary in Wilmington. From 2005-2007, I was the Math Coach at Broad Avenue and in 2007 became the Elementary Math Advisor in Local District South. During that time I earned my Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Pepperdine University. From 2009-2015, I continued as Elementary Math Coordinator in Local District South and in February, 2015, I joined the President Avenue family. GO EAGLES!!!!
